Yuya Uemura, a rising star in NJPW, will be out of action for several months due to an injury.

Uemura, 29, was forced to withdraw last month from NJPW G1 Climax after sustaining an injury during the final stages of the tournament. The injury was diagnosed as a torn triceps. NJPW estimates that it will take Uemura six months to fully recover.

“I want so badly to wrestle right now, but there is still a long way to go before I can even step into the ring. What I want to do is to ignite all of Japan’s pro-wrestling and be the strongest. It will take time, but I am going to do whatever it takes to get there,” Uemura stated in a NJPW statement.

“I’ll do everything I can to relax and be even hotter upon my return.” The Heat Storm will ignite your heart!

Uemura’s injury timeline means he will miss NJPW Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestle Dynasty at the Tokyo Dome, in January 2025. He defeated Yota Tsuji in a featured match earlier this year at Wrestle King 18 in Tokyo Dome.

Tsuji also played in the G1 match that Uemura tore both triceps. Uemura, in his first G1, won four matches including a victory over Tsuji.
