YOH dislocated his shoulder during Sakura Genesis last week.
YOH has been eliminated from the upcoming Best of the Super Juniors Tournament.
NJPW announced on Thursday morning that YOH will be out of commission due to a dislocated shoulder that he sustained in a match last weekend against SHO at Sakura Genesis. A replacement will be announced later.
NJPW’s Website wrote the following:
YOH suffered an injury during a match at Sakura Genesis for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. The match was stopped as a result. YOH had a full medical evaluation, and it was determined that YOH suffered a dislocated shoulder on the left side as well as shoulder labrum damage.
YOH is unable to compete in the Best of the Super Jr. 31 starting May 11 in Chiba due to his injury. We apologize to the fans who were eager to see YOH wrestle and appreciate your understanding. The tournament will announce a replacement for YOH at a later time.
The match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship last week lasted only 96 seconds before YOH injured himself. This caused the referee, who was the official, to stop the match. Medical officials attended to YOH as he was assisted to his back.
The Best of the Super Junior Tournament begins on May 11 and the finals will be held at Dominion on the 9th of June.
