Knight was honored on Saturday in his hometown.

On Saturday, WWE superstar LA Knight received the key to his hometown.

On Saturday afternoon, a ceremony honoring Knight (real-name Shaun Ricker), took place at University Plaza Hagerstown in Maryland. The Hagerstown Herald-Mail reported that hundreds of people attended.

Knight spoke to the crowd and told them about his struggles in life. He encouraged everyone to follow their dream.

Knight joked, “I expected 10 people would show up.” “Hagerstown, I’m so proud of all of you. You showed up, and you showed out. I can only say thank you. This is an incredible honor. Thank you to Mayor. Thank you to the councilman of the city for putting together this one.”

Knight said that receiving the key to the City is a moment of completeness for him. Knight told the crowd that he loved them and thanked Hagerstown as his home.

Knight was in Hagerstown on holiday when the ceremony took place.

Knight, 41, has been one of WWE’s biggest stars in the past year. In November, at Crown Jewel, he challenged Roman Reigns unsuccessfully for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Knight will compete in a match for the number one contender at SmackDown New Year’s Revolution on January 5, 2019. The match will be between Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles.
