WWE Tag Team Champions DIY surprised audiences at a Cleveland indie show on Thursday night.
Triller streamed AIW’s Against the World, featuring Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano.
Gargano was a trained wrestler and made his debut in the Ohio independent scene in 2005, including a match for AIW. He continued to wrestle for AIW each year until 2016, when he became a part of WWE’s NXT brand.
DIY will defend their WWE Tag Team Championship this Friday against The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga at SmackDown Cleveland. Cleveland will also be the host of Saturday’s SummerSlam. The Bloodline won the number one contenders’ gauntlet on last Friday’s SmackDown. They will be competing for the title.
Gargano, a native Ohioan, grew up in the Cleveland suburb Lakewood.
