WWE recorded the finals of the title tournament after SmackDown on Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ricochet became the first WWE Speed Champion after he pinned Johnny Gargano.
In the episode of Speed which aired this week, Ricochet beat JD McDonagh and advanced to the finals. The episode of Speed that airs on Wednesday will feature a semifinal match between Gargano vs. Bronson Reed. The finals between Ricochet vs Gargano are likely to air the following week.
Last night, the semifinal match between Gargano and Reed was also recorded.
WWE Speed, a collaboration between WWE (the former Twitter) and X (the new Twitter), premiered on April 3, 2013. Every Wednesday, new episodes of the show are broadcast exclusively on X. They air at noon Eastern Time. Matches of Speed are limited to three minutes.
The WWE Draft 2024 was held last night on SmackDown. Raw selected Ricochet in the third round. Raw will conclude the draft on Monday.
