WWE Speed begins a new number one contender’s tourney in todays Show_Type news
A new number one contenders’ tournament on WWE Speed has begun with Ricochet’s successful first title defense.
In a match that was broadcast last Friday, the inaugural WWE Speed Champion Ricochet defended his title against Tyler Bate. WWE Speed returned today with a brand new episode. Tommaso Ciampa beat Ludwig Kaiser in a four-man tournament for the number one contender. In the next round, Ciampa will either face Andrade or Karl Anderson. The winner of this match will challenge Ricochet for his title.
The match between Ciampa and Kaiser was taped last week in Saudi Arabia, before SmackDown. Ciampa pinned Kaiser in six seconds with the Fairytale Ending.
Ciampa made an appearance on SmackDown last Friday. DIY (Ciampa and Johnny Gargano), who are the WWE Tag Team champions, confronted The Street Profits. They said they wanted to be the next team to challenge Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. If that means going through The Street Profits, then so be it.
WWE Speed will air Andrade vs. Anderson on next Wednesday (5th June). The episode will debut on X/Twitter around noon Eastern time.
WWE Speed is a bracket-style competition with a three-minute match time limit. This is increased to five minutes in title matches.
