The Wrap published an article about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “chronic tardiness”.

WWE has responded to an article that claimed The Rock’s “chronic tardiness” affected WrestleMania.

The Wrap published an article on Tuesday about production problems that plagued Rock’s film Red One. It is due for release in the second half of this year. The film was made for $250 million and production issues such as The Rock’s “chronic tardiness and lack of professionalism” were cited as reasons why it went over budget.

Umberto Gonzalez, The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez, wrote: “Insiders have told TheWrap Johnson arrived up to eight hours late for the filming of the movie. This forced the crew to shoot around Johnson on some days.”

The article continues by saying that Rock’s frequent tardiness was also a factor in WrestleMania forty.

Gonzalez continued, “Earlier this month he was three-hours late for his main event match in WrestleMania forty, two insiders said to TheWrap.”

WWE has denied the claim.

“Dwayne wasn’t only on time for WrestleMania but he was also hours early to assist with rehearsals — and it was a pleasure to be able to work with him throughout the entire run,” stated Chris Legentil. He is WWE’s executive Vice President for Talent Relations and Head for Communications.

Rock was also over two hours late to an appearance at WWE World during the build-up to WrestleMania. WWE sources, however, claim that Rock was late because of traffic and other WWE commitments.

A spokesperson for Amazon MGM denied that there were any issues with Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions or Red One. This led to higher costs.

The spokesperson said, “Dwayne and Seven Bucks were incredible partners on Red One. This is a film that audiences will love this holiday season.” “Our testing was very strong – the reaction at CinemaCon speaks volumes – and we couldn’t make it without Dwayne and his constant work and support.” It is absurd and false to report that we reached this point because he arrived seven-eight hour late to the set.

Other industry insiders, however, stated that The Rock’s tardiness cost the film up to $50 million.

Gonzalez wrote: “According to three insiders, who refused to be identified for fear of losing their jobs, Johnson was late on average seven to eight hours a day and missed several days of production. This resulted in a cost increase of at least $50,000,000 according to the insiders.

Other industry insiders, however, denied these claims. They stated that Rock “averaged not more than an hour late to the set of “Red One.” The film will be released in November.
