WWE plans a CM Punk vs. Roman Revigns feud in todays Wrestling news

WWE plans a Punk/Reigns feud, but this won’t be Punk first.

CM Punk will reportedly work a program in WWE against Roman Reigns, even though it won’t mark his first feud.

Justin Barrasso from Sports Illustrated reports WWE plans a Punk/Reigns rivalry. Barrasso did not give a timeline for when this program is expected to happen, but he does note that Punk’s first feud will be against World Heavyweight Championship Seth Rollins.

Sports Illustrated learned that Punk is planning to feud against Roman Reigns. It will not be Punk vs Reigns in the first match, but Rollins. A feud between Rollins Punk is hugely beneficial for both men. Punk is still a top-level wrestler, but his performance will be enhanced by a world-class competitor like Rollins. Punk-Rollins is not the current favorite but there are many reasons to believe that it could be the main event of WrestleMania’s opening night. Rollins would not be able to do that without Punk.

Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes is the most likely scenario for WrestleMania 40.

Punk’s shocking return to WWE was made at Survivor Series on Saturday night. It was the first time he had appeared for WWE since he left in 2014.

Punk delivered his return promo last night on Raw, declaring that it’s home. Punk mentioned Paul Heyman in the promo, but did not name him.

Punk said, “I wish I had never left.” “But once, a wise person told me that to get all I need from this place, I would have to leave it and come back. “I hate to admit that the wise man was correct.”

Punk’s WWE comeback comes less than three month after he was terminated by AEW for a backstage incident at All In.

Barrasso spoke to unnamed members of WWE and AEW rosters regarding Punk.

Sports Illustrated confirmed that there are concerns over how Punk will fit into the locker room after speaking with multiple members of WWE’s active roster. While his time in AEW was exciting and entertaining, it also caused a lot of controversy. Punk had plenty of fans and enemies. This is similar to the WWE return of Hulk Hogan in 2002. There was a lot of concern about their WCW reputation and actions. All three men were successful in WWE and Punk is expected do the same.

AEW talent have told me that Punk will behave himself in the beginning of his WWE career. Punk’s run in WWE has not been a good one historically, according to multiple sources. Sports Illustrated quoted multiple WWE talent who said that they believe the WWE locker room has a much more united feel than AEW’s, which is prone to leaks.
