The Great American Bash has now been extended to a two-week period.
The show will now be held on August 6 and 30. This was announced by NXT. The special was announced at NXT Heatwave but only the date for August was displayed. Due to Olympics coverage, both nights will air on SYFY and not USA Network.
The only match confirmed so far for The Great American Bash has been Roxanne Perez defending her NXT Women’s Championship versus Thea Hail. The two had a confrontation during Tuesday’s episode, where they traded submission attempts before Ridge Holland pulled Hail from Perez.
This will be the 5th consecutive year that NXT airs a Great American Bash Special, which dates back as far as the late 80s with the NWA. Later in WCW. Carmelo defended the NXT Championship last year against Ilja Dragunov, and Tiffany Stratton defeated Thea Hail in order to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
