WWE is looking to partner up with more international promotions.
LuchaLibreOnline reported Monday that WWE was looking for companies in Mexico or Puerto Rico to develop similar relationships to those they have with Marigold Pro Wrestling NOAH and TNA Wrestling.
“EXCLUSIVE – WWE has formed alliances with the top professional wrestling companies in Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Lucha Libre Online confirms that WWE is seeking to form alliances or agreements in Mexico and Puerto Rico. The company knocked on doors in both countries recently with the intent to create a partnership. This is similar to what the company did with companies such as TNA, Pro Wrestling Noah, and MariGold. If it happens, it will be huge for the company that WWE chooses from Puerto Rico or Mexico,” reads a LuchaLibreOnline post.
WWE has announced recent cross-promotions between TNA Wrestling Marigold, and Pro Wrestling NOAH. Tatum Paxley responded to Jordynne Grace’s open challenge on Friday at TNA Against All Odds. NOAH announced recently that AJ Styles would wrestle Naomichi Marfuji at its show on July 13. IYO Sky will also wrestle Utami Haashishita in Marigold Summer Destiny, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
