The NXT Women’s Division is getting a new championship.
During Stand & Deliver, WWE announced the introduction of a Women’s NXT North American Title. The first champion will be announced “soon”, but no further details have been revealed.
NXT’s general manager Ava announced the news after a six woman tag match in which Thea Hail and Kelani Jordan defeated Jacy Jayne and Kiana James.
Ava said, “If that match didn’t prove why we have the best division for women in professional wrestling then I don’t know what would.” “I believe that women are the backbone to NXT. It is for this reason that I am excited and honored to announce the upcoming crowning of the first Women’s NXT North American champion.
The Women’s North American Championship is a secondary singles championship for the NXT Women’s Division. The NXT Women’s Championship is the division’s primary title, currently held by Roxanne perez.
NXT’s North American Championship for men has existed since 2018.
It appears that the NXT roster for women is also getting a major addition. The former Stardom wrestler Giulia is shown in the crowd of Stand & Deliver.
