WWE confirms that Pete Dunne will be returning to SmackDown in todays Wrestling news
Dunne officially no longer goes by the name Butch.
Butch is officially no longer.
On Friday’s WWE SmackDown show, Butch was renamed Pete Dunne. Last week, Dunne and Tyler Bate teased the name change. Dunne & Bate teamed up to defeat Pretty Deadly this evening.
Corey Graves stated on commentary that “This was the missing part.” “We have been talking for weeks about Butch’s identity crisis. This is a Bruiserweight. “Pete Dunne, perhaps the most sadistic and technical mastermind of the game.”
Dunne was aggressive throughout the match, and won the game for his team by snapping Elton Prince’s fingers and hitting The Bitter End.
Dunne and Bate were reunited on the January 5 SmackDown when Bate made his WWE Main Roster debut. The two also defeated Pretty Deadly on that night. Dunne and Bate were linked throughout their careers, both as rivals and stablemates in British Strong Style.
Dunne received the name Butch in 2022 when he joined the WWE main roster. He was a part of The Brawling Brutes, along with Sheamus & Ridge Holland, until the group recently disbanded.
Dunne was the NXT United Kingdom champion from May 2017 until April 2019.
