WWE confirms NXT Battleground will air from UFC Apex in todays Wrestling news
Originally, the event was scheduled to take place in Savannah, Georgia.
WWE has confirmed the new date and location of NXT Battleground.
The event was originally planned for May 26th in Savannah, Georgia on the same night as AEW’s Double or Nothing. In a Monday press release, WWE confirmed that the show will now be held on Sunday, June 9 at the TKO owned UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The 130,000 square foot venue was opened in 2019, giving UFC an area to host events during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The venue was renovated in 2022 so that it could accommodate up to 1,000 spectators.
WWE Senior Vice President for Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels said: “We are always exploring the new frontiers of showcasing NXT, and we are excited to be bringing Battleground to this world class event and production facility with UFC.”
The last UFC event broadcast from the venue was UFC Fight Night 240, which aired on April 6. Brendan Allen defeated Chris Curtis in the main event by split decision.
