WWE Cody Rhodes helps fan denied wheelchair accessible MITB Tickets in todays Wrestling news

WWE has intervened to correct the situation for a fan denied wheelchair accessible tickets at Money in the Bank.

This week, CBC News & CTV News both published articles about Mike Ashkewe – a WWE fan that won tickets to Money in the Bank in a contest held by Toys “R” Us Canada. Ashkewe is in a wheelchair, and after winning the contest, he informed those responsible that he needed accessible seating. Ashkewe was initially told to not worry, but the Toys “R” Us Canada digital marketing team emailed him to say that they had spoken to the venue, and because the accessible tickets were all sold out, nothing could be done. He was offered the cash value, which was $301.99.

Ashkewe said it was “devastating”, to learn he wouldn’t have been able to attend the event. WWE learned about the issue Wednesday night, and had arranged for him to be seated on Thursday morning. WWE apologized for the incident and arranged Cody Rhodes’ call to Ashkewe.

Ashkewe was told by the Undisputed WWE champion, “I’m sorry.” “The cool thing is that we have some tickets for you. We’ll also pay for your transport to Money in the Bank. We can’t let a fan such as you sit on the sidelines.”

Ashkewe wrote in social media that “The American Nightmare [made a Canadian Dream] come true”.

A spokesperson from Toys “R” Us Canada stated that they are “very happy” with the outcome and “delighted” that Mike will be able to enjoy this exciting weekend event.

Ashkewe said, “I hope that future contest organizers, and anyone else, take into consideration the needs and wants of the disabled community.” “We want come to events, to concerts, to shows, to be involved and to be seen.

Ashkewe said, “I know WWE has a great track record with the disability community.” “I know that when they want to do something amazing, they can,” Ashkewe said. “This was unexpected.”

Money in the bank will be held at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Saturday, July 6. Rhodes will take part in a six man tag match with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, against three members of The Bloodline.
