CM Punk will face Drew McIntyre inside the Hell in a Cell structure on the anniversary of their first Hell in a Cell match.
WWE has announced that Punk and McIntyre are going to face off in a Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood on October 5, 2015. The PLE will be held at State Farm Arena, Atlanta. This is the first time in 20 years that WWE has used Bad Blood as a name for a WWE event.
Punk and McIntyre were locked in a heated rivalry for the entire year 2024. They even continued their feud when Punk was out with a torn triceps. Since Punk’s return to the ring, they have a 1-1 match record. McIntyre was victorious at SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins serving as the special referee. Punk, however won a strap match in Berlin.
McIntyre then beat Punk down in a blindside assault on Raw last weekend. Punk was beaten up in an ambulance for the purpose of the angle.
On Raw, Adam Pearce said to McIntyre in a segment that the issues between McIntyre and Punk must be resolved. Pearce, who claimed to have spoken with Punk earlier in the day, then announced that the Hell in a Cell Match for Bad Blood would take place.
Punk did not appear on Raw tonight, as he was unable to sell the attack from last week. Punk will return to Raw next Monday.
Bad Blood 2024 will take place exactly 27 years after Hell in a Cell premiered with Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker in Badd Blood: Your House 1997.
