WWE announces national anthem performer for WrestleMania night one in todays Wrestling news
Coco Jones will perform at the beginning of WrestleMania on Saturday.
Coco Jones, a singer and actress, will open the first night of WrestleMania with a musical performance.
Paul “Triple H’ Levesque announced today that Jones would perform the national anthem at the start of WrestleMania night one on Saturday. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern.
Levesque wrote:
We are excited to welcome Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter @TheRealCocoJ this weekend to #WrestleManiaXL, where she will perform our country’s National Anthem at the start of @WrestleMania on Saturday.
Jones was nominated in five categories at the Grammys this year. She won the Best R&B performance award and was nominated for other awards, including Best New Artist, R&B Song of the Year, Best R&B album, and Best Traditional R&B performance.
Jones is an actress who stars in the Peacock Series Bel-Air. It’s a reimagined edition of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
America the Beautiful is traditionally played at the beginning of WrestleMania. This is the first WrestleMania in history where Vince McMahon did not participate.
WWE has not announced who will sing the national anthem at night two.
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, will host WrestleMania forty this Saturday and Sunday. Both nights will be broadcast live on Peacock/WWE Network. Each night, a pre-show will take place between 5-7 p.m. Eastern time.
