Roman Reigns faces three challengers for his title at the Royal Rumble.
WWE announced that Reigns would defend his Undisputed WWE Universe Championship against Randy Orton and LA Knight in a fatal four way match at the Royal Rumble. The match was created after Reigns interfered with a number-one contender’s match on SmackDown’s New Year’s Revolution.
Tonight’s SmackDown featured Orton vs. Knight and Styles. The match was supposed to determine Reigns’ Royal Rumble Challenger, but Reigns & The Bloodline interfered and attacked all three participants.
Reigns was victorious at the end of The Bloodline after Orton, Knight and Styles were eliminated. But SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis told Paul Heyman that Reigns would now have to defend the title in a four-way fatal match at the Rumble.
In recent weeks, a power struggle has developed between Reigns & Aldis. Reigns was not happy that Aldis had made the Orton, Knight, and Styles match the number one contender’s contest without consulting him first.
Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida is hosting the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 27. Here’s the updated card for the event:
