Tonight, WWE’s journey to crown the first Women’s United States Champion starts on SmackDown.
The tournament to determine the first Champion will begin tonight with a triple-threat match between Candice, Bayley and B-Fab. WWE released a video today with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis revealing this news.
Aldis revealed the new Women’s United States Title Belt a week ago. It will be a midcard title for the SmackDown Women’s Division. LeRae Bayley and B-Fab were the first to confirm their participation in the tournament.
The new title is in the works since months. WWE has not yet announced if they will add a Women’s Intercontinental Title Belt for the Raw women division.
SmackDown will be held tonight at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Cody Rhodes, the undisputed WWE champion, will kick off tonight’s episode.
