WWE has partnered with Wingstop to feature the logo of the restaurant chain on the SummerSlam Mat.
WWE released a press statement on Thursday announcing Wingstop’s role as the Presenting Partner of SummerSlam. The sponsorship agreement includes the placement of two Wingstop logos on the SummerSlam mat corner. This is in addition to the Prime Logo that’s displayed in the middle of every WWE PLE.
SummerSlam will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3. The Associated Press reports that the event will have 12 sponsors in total. WWE told the AP sponsorship revenue was up by more than 60% from last year’s SummerSlam which generated $7million in sponsorship revenue.
Wingstop will sponsor WWE’s fan launch event in Cleveland on Friday. The deal also includes a customized Wingstop campaign featuring Rey Mysterio, Braun Strowman and WWE programming in the summer.
Bayley and Drew McIntyre are hosting a meet-and-greet at the Wingstop, located at 439 W. Bagley Road, Berea, Ohio this Friday from noon to two p.m. Eastern Time.
SummerSlam’s main card will be broadcast live on Peacock/WWE Network on Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern. The show will feature Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa in a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
