Will Ospreay, who began his AEW full-time contract just a few short months ago, can now call himself a champ after winning the International title in Sunday’s Double or Nothing.

Ospreay beat Roderick Strong on the main card, ending Strong’s run of 85 days that began with his victory over Orange Cassidy at March’s Revolution. Ospreay won the shot by winning a Casino gauntlet in April.

Ospreay won the match on Sunday by countering an End of Heartache by landing on his legs, followed by a Hidden Blade for the pin. He also earned the title. This is his first title defense since his IWGP U.S. championship reign ended in NJPW last November.

Ospreay, as he has been since April’s Dynasty episode, was reluctant to use his Tiger Driver ’91 even though Don Callis did everything he could to convince him to do so.

Strong only had one title defense during his three-month run.

Early in the match, Ospreay fell on his head when Matt Taven and Mike Bennett hit the Doomsday Device outside the ring. He was fine and continued the match.
