Will Ospreay would like to see Ricochet remind the world of his true abilities if the rumors that he is coming to AEW prove to be true.
Since leaving WWE in June, it was expected that Ricochet would be heading to AEW. Fightful reported earlier this week that Ricochet had signed a multiyear contract with AEW. He could possibly debut for the promotion during All In.
Ospreay & Ricochet were rivals in the ring early in their career. Ospreay’s and Ricochet’s 2016 match at NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors launched them into stardom. Ospreay reacted when he heard that Ricochet could be joining him at AEW soon.
“I feel like he coming in now — It’s one of those situations where we did that match and we went on our separate journeys. Right? We’re back together. Now, for me, it’s like, “This is [Ricochet]’s chance now.” Here’s your chance to prove yourself. Because look around, boss. Look at the wrestlers of today. Look at what everyone is doing with that athletic style of professional wrestling. It’s him. He did it. He just has to find the fire inside himself, because he is confident he can achieve it. I feel like he has been so underrated for so long that people have forgotten what a freak athlete he is,” Ospreay stated.
“So if this is true and if he’s coming to AEW I am calling you to remind everyone who you are, bruv. You were, without a doubt, the man. Dragon Gate, PWG and the indies – all over the world. No one could touch you. So I’m calling you out. I’m saying: remind the whole world that you were one of the best people to ever do this sh*t. Because I believe it. “If I believe it, then you have to believe in yourself, boss.”
Ospreay, who interviewed Ricochet in May this year, said that he found WWE’s use of Ricochet “appalling.” Ospreay wanted Ricochet in a promotion that would appreciate his abilities.
Ospreay will challenge MJF to the AEW American Championship this Sunday at All In.
