Will Ospreay has said he is ‘done mentioning anyone in WWE’ and wants to focus on AEW in todays Wrestling news
Ospreay answered a question about his 4/10 promotion at the AEW Dynasty media event.
Will Ospreay has finished talking about Paul “Triple H Levesque” or anyone else in WWE.
Levesque made comments before WrestleMania on The Pat McAfee Show that many interpreted as a dig at Ospreay for signing with AEW instead of WWE.
“When I see people who have worked hard to get where they are and then choose the job they want, they work less. The schedule is lighter. Then I’m glad that I didn’t get to you. Levesque said that if you’re not willing to work hard, you shouldn’t be here at this stage of your career.
Ospreay appeared to respond to Levesque’s comments in a promotional video for the April 10 AEW Dynamite. He said that Levesque only holds his position because he “grinds on the boss’s girl.”
In response to Levesque’s comments, Ospreay stated that he was “done mentioning anyone over there” at the AEW Dynasty media event.
Ospreay was:
I don’t care to talk about it anymore. I’m from a generation where, like, the way I grew up, I would retaliate if someone threw a jab. Although I wasn’t named, it was about me. All due respect, I am now done mentioning anyone there. I don’t feel like I can do that anymore, because I feel that I have lowered myself to this standard. I don’t have to do that anymore. Look at what I did in the ring against Bryan, and that was only match two of pay-per view, do you understand? I have a f—load more to go.
I am annoyed by the jab I took, and I mean that with all due respect. I thought it was nothing bad. It was a joke that was made like 20 years ago, for —”s sake.
Sincerely, I can tell you that was the first time in my life I experienced true tribalism. It’s not nice and it’s unnecessary. I’m done with it, it’s not worth my time. I want to focus on promoting AEW.
I don’t regret saying what I said. I’m saying it now because, once again, you take into consideration the entire situation. It made me angry, but I won’t do that anymore.
Ospreay defeated Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty in 32 minutes and forty seconds. He is now 6-0 in his first six months as a full-time roster member. In that time, he’s beaten Konosuke takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. He’s also beaten Powerhouse Hobbs, Claudio Castagnoli and Katsuyori shibata.
