Wes Lee’s recovery from back surgery is going well, even though he does not know when he will be able to wrestle again.
The former NXT North American champion shared an update on his injury on Saturday, writing that he is making great progress. Lee doesn’t yet know when his body is “firing on full cylinders,” but he knows his mind will be strong.
Recovery update: I am making great progress. I’m still unsure when everything will be firing at full cylinders in my body. But the mind is strong. I’m having creative waves and diving back into other outlets for creating art.

In December 2023, Lee announced that he would be out of commission for 8-12 month due to back surgery. He was supposed to face Dominik Mysterio, the then-champion for the North American championship at NXT Deadline in December.
Shawn Michaels admitted that he knew Lee was suffering from back problems for a long time, but didn’t realize the extent of the injury until the injury forced Lee to miss the match.
Lee tweeted in January that he had recovered from his surgery and was walking again.
During his WWE career, Lee has held both the NXT North American Championship and the NXT Tag Team titles twice.
