Vince McMahon’s response to Janel Grant’s motion to strike comments in todays Wrestling news
Vince McMahon’s legal team has filed a new memo today.
Lawyers for the former WWE Chairman have responded after Janel Grant’s team filed a motion to strike certain comments in McMahon’s motion to compel arbitral proceedings, which was submitted on April 23, 2007.
Grant’s team claims that McMahon spread “inflammatory lies” using the motion and that it was “used as a platform to launch vicious falsities attacking Janel’s character in an effort to harass and intimidate Janel into submission.”
Today, McMahon’s team referred Grant’s motion to the “heights of hypocrisy.”
You can read the full memo that was submitted today.
Plaintiff’s motion to strike is a sham and a display of hypocrisy. Plaintiff, having falsely accused Defendant, despite the obligation to arbitrate in a 67-page Complaint that disregards Rule 8(a),(2) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure in a public forum and completely disregards Rule 8(a),(2), now seeks strike the Preliminary statement of the Memorandum of Law supporting Defendant’s Motion to Compel Arbitration. No. 30-1), on the pretext that it is “too inflammatory.”
The memorandum states that Grant’s suit includes several text messages she exchanged with McMahon, but does not include Grants’ responses. They claim that Grant’s responses to McMahon texts are “equally and often more provocative and aggressive.” However, they also note that McMahon no longer has the text messages in his possession, since he deleted them.
The Complaint includes private sexual texts from Defendant, without any of Plaintiff’s replies. These responses are often more aggressive and provocative, and show that the relationship is consensual.
The communications between the parties show that the relationship was consensual and that Plaintiff initiated many of the messages. While Defendant is no longer in possession of the text message between the Parties, as he deleted it when he ended the relationship, the discovery will show, in this case, that Plaintiff sent him sexually-explicit images of herself, and texted to him, among other things,:
- That she was in love with him and he was the love of her life;
- That he was her best friend;
- That she wanted to have sex with him and providing graphic detail;
- That she fantasized about being held down, enjoyed being in pain, and wanted rough sex;
- That she wanted Defendant to watch her have sex with other people and know about her sex with others;
- That she wanted Defendant to give her thousands of dollars for clothes, plastic surgery, and other gifts;
- That she wanted to have a future with Defendant even after signing the Agreement; and
- That she wanted Defendant to keep living in the same building, so she could continue to see him, even after signing the Agreement.
“For the foregoing reasons, Defendant respectfully requests that Plaintiff’s Motion to Strike be denied,” the memorandum concludes.
