Vince McMahon is accused of sex-trafficking in a new lawsuit in todays Wrestling news
On Thursday, a lawsuit was filed against McMahon and WWE, as well as John Laurinaitisf.
A new lawsuit was filed accusing Vince McMahon and a former WWE employee of sexual abuse and exploitation.
The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in the district court of Connecticut against WWE, McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Janel Grant, a former WWE worker, claims she was “victimized by physical and emotional abuse, as well as sexual assault and human trafficking” at WWE.
Grant is a former WWE employee who was investigated by the WWE Board of Directors in 2022 for a “secret” settlement with McMahon worth $3 million.
Grant is alleged to have felt pressured by Grant into a sexual relationship McMahon because he threatened to use his legal resources if she didn’t. McMahon demanded more and more during her employment at the company between 2019 and 2021. According to the lawsuit, she was also expected engage in sexual relations with Laurinaitis while working for the company.
The Wall Street Journal published a report on Grant’s case on Thursday.
WSJ reported that McMahon also promised a sexual experience with Grant to a WWE wrestling star, Brock Lesnar. This was during contract negotiations for the summer of 2021.
The 67-page document contains several graphic descriptions and accusations.
It reads as follows:
Ms. Grant endured a lot of pain in silence. She felt exploited, lost her security, and was afraid of the wrath WWE and McMahon’s army of lawyers if she came forward and brought to light the egregious actions detailed herein. Ms. Grant now seeks to hold the Defendants responsible for their reprehensible, unlawful acts, both for herself and others.
According to the lawsuit, Grant and McMahon first met in 2019, when McMahon lived in Grant’s penthouse. Grant claims that she was financially struggling at the time due to her years of caring for her elderly parents.
The lawsuit states that “McMahon wasfriended Ms. Grant and gave her hope of a new future with promises of an as-yet-undetermined role at WWE.”
McMahon, who continued to promise Grant employment at WWE in the spring of 2019, allegedly began “demonstrating a growing lack of boundaries” towards her.
McMahon would arrange meetings with Grant in order to discuss possible job opportunities. At one meeting, McMahon greeted Grant wearing only his underwear. McMahon laughed, according to reports, when Grant turned her back on him. He then asked her to help him put on his shirt. He continued to make promises of future employment while massaging her lower spine at another meeting.
McMahon allegedly warned Grant to keep the “closeness” of their relationship a secret. He said he had “world class legal resources on speed dial for dealing with people who become a problem.”
Grant claims she felt trapped, between being destroyed by McMahon’s legal resources and giving in to the pressures of a relationship.
Grant was given the role of “administrator-coordinator” on June 17, 2019. She was transferred to Talent Relations in March 2021.
According to the lawsuit, McMahon started sharing sexually explicit videos and pictures of Grant in March 2020 with people both inside and outside of the company. One of the people with whom these pictures and videos were shared was a former UFC Heavyweight champion. Another was a WWE ref.
The lawsuit states that McMahon’s sexual demands became more and more depraved. Grant tried to stop the physical encounters, but McMahon refused.
The lawsuit continues
This complaint also details encounters in which McMahon used sex toys to forcefully use Ms. Grant, causing her physical injuries including pain and bleeding. Despite Ms. Grant’s pleas to stop any further sexual activity the number of sexual encounters and McMahon’s physical aggression increased.
McMahon’s aggressiveness was most evident when he used sex toys that were named after male WWE wrestlers or performers. McMahon named sex toys to match the race of the wrestler.
The lawsuit continues to claim that McMahon sent Grant for hour-long consultations with a “Celebrity Doctor”, which included “deep dives” into Grant’s personal and professional life.
Grant was temporarily sent to work for the XFL, in March 2020. She then applied to work full-time with the organization. Her request was denied.
McMahon allegedly defecated onto Grant in May 2020 during a sexual encounter which included McMahon’s physical therapist. McMahon told Grant he loved Grant shortly after.
McMahon allegedly gave Grant an ultimatum in November 2020 to either have a sex encounter inside his office or in the parked vehicle.
McMahon soon began to direct Grant to have sexual encounters before the start of each workday. She was also required to engage in sexual activities at WWE headquarters while working. She was officially reassigned by WWE to work under Laurinaitis starting in January 2021.
McMahon instructed Grant to “obey’ Laurinatis, if he asked for more men to be brought in for their encounters.
McMahon, during an encounter in June of 2021, allegedly locked Grant in his locker at the WWE Offices. He then “forced herself on her over a massaging table.”
The suit claims that in the June 2021 encounter at the WWE office, McMahon, Laurinaitis, and others forced themselves on her, and then took turns restraint her, saying “No means no” and “Take it –.”
The lawsuit states that McMahon provided a sexual encounter between Grant and a WWE wrestler as part of contract negotiations.
In the days following, WWE Superstar revealed to Ms. Grant a fetish and tested McMahon’s promise that Ms. Grant will “do anything”, by asking her to send a video showing herself urinating.
Grant canceled a meeting with WWE wrestler, John Cena, in December 2021 due to the weather and COVID-19.
McMahon told her in January 2022 that his wife discovered their relationship, and Grant would have to leave the company. He wanted her to first sign an NDA.
Grant signed the NDA as a condition of receiving payments from McMahon, which he later ceased to make.
McMahon tried to sell Grant to a WWE superstar who was in New York at the time for a live event.
The lawsuit continues to claim that WWE’s November 2022 internal investigation into allegations against McMahon was a sham. Grant claims that the company never contacted her about it, despite her willingness to participate.
