Lisa Marie Varon (better known as Victoria to wrestling fans) has signed a deal with WWE.
The former Women’s Champion has revealed that she accepted WWE’s offer for a Nostalgic Contract (formerly known as an Legends Deal, or sometimes referred to a “Nostalgia” contract), which allows the company use her likeness on merchandise, action figures and video games.
Victoria posted the news on social media Saturday, writing:
“Here’s my big announcement!” This week I signed the WWE Nostalgic Contract. I am so honored and excited that @wwe contacted me about this! It’s an honor to be a part of the WWE Universe once again. This does not mean I’ll be jumping back into the ring again (but never say NEVER!). It means I will be featured in future things like video games and possibly some new official merchandise! “Thank you to all my #WWE fans and supporters. I hope you’re as excited about this event as I am!”
Victoria is a WWE Women’s Champion twice, a five-time TNA Knockouts Champion. She received the Cauliflower Alley Club’s Women’s Wrestling Award and was inducted in the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame class of 2024. She has not yet been inducted into WWE Hall of Fame.
The Headbangers, Mosh &Thrasher, revealed in December they had signed similar deals with WWE. They were added to WWE 2K24 as part of a DLC pack earlier this summer.
Kurt Angle claims he signed an agreement similar to this with WWE in 2022. In an interview with Bubba, he explained the contract’s meaning.
“I signed a nostalgic contract, which is essentially just a merchandise agreement. They pay me per appearance and gave me a great deal with the merchandise agreement. They gave me money up front, which was really cool, but I’m also not obligated only to the WWE. So I can do my own appearances.”
