Undertaker: Hopefully AEW gets its crap together one day in todays Wrestling news
The Undertaker recently criticized AEW in his podcast.
Taker was talking about how competition is good for the wrestling business when he said that he didn’t think Tony Khan had what it took to compete with WWE. He also said he believes AEW lacks a leader within the locker room.
Taker said, “Hopefully one day, AEW will get their crap together and genuinely compete,” on Six Feet Under. “That’s not the popular view from most WWE insiders, but I think competition will only make you better.”
Taker said that WCW’s ability to beat WWE in the ratings, for so long, pushed the company to improve their product. Taker is unsure if AEW will be able to provide “real” rivalry and believes that the lack of locker-room leadership and management could be at fault.
He continued:
“I don’t believe there is a true leader in the locker-room.” I’m not sure, and I have no animosity towards the man, but I don’t think Tony (Khan is the right person to run the company. I mean, I know his heart is in the right place and that he wants something to happen but I don’t think he’s got the intelligence to run a wrestling organization against the WWE.
“I hope they can get it together so we have some (competition).” It’s good for the wrestlers and the fans.
Taker also spoke about WWE’s recent partnership TNA Wrestling and said it will help the industry to develop new talent.
“It feeds TNA’s system and then, when they are ready, we can pull them out and bring to WWE,” said he.
