The Undertaker claims that WrestleMania 40 brought him “closure.”
Taker appeared in the main event of night two between Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns. He chokeslammed The Rock to help Rhodes repel The Bloodline interference.
Taker discussed his appearance at Mania in the most recent episode Six Feet Under.
Taker said:
Since I retired, I’ve been struggling to resolve it. But this weekend I finally got closure. It was a great weekend. It was fun. It was fun. I was involved in the storyline and it was important. But when I was running out of that building and it was all over, I was like, “I’m done.”
Taker continued:
It was almost like I had a moment of clarity, like, “I’m fine now.” I’m not saying I wouldn’t do that in the future, but I don’t have that feeling that I had in my chest since I retired. I hadn’t come to terms with it.
He said that since retiring, it has been difficult for him attend WWE events because he felt the urge to perform. He feels he can now close the book on that chapter.
Taker continued:
It was a great weekend. And then to close out the wrestling part of my life was awesome. It was great, it was really cool. It’s a great feeling to not have that pressure anymore. It’s been tough the last two years, especially with Mania. I told you that I would leave even if it was a premium live event before the matches started because I get to the point where I have to be there.
So I was there, and what a wonderful moment it was. It’s a great storyline, but man, I felt like I could close this book.
