Two title fights headline the action on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The final UFC event in 2023 will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 296 is the biggest event of the year.
The main event will feature a title fight between UFC welterweight Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.
The rivalry between them has heated up this week after some of Covington’s comments. Edwards is coming in with a 12-fight winning streak and two wins over Kamaru usman have established him as one of the best at 170 lbs. Covington is fighting for the first since March 2022, when he beat Jorge Masvidal.
In the comain event, UFC Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defends his title for the first time against Brandon Royval. Pantoja won a submission in August 2021. Pantoja took the title away from Brandon Moreno back in July, while Royval has now won three consecutive matches since Pantoja’s loss.
The rest of the main event is full of intriguing matchups. Shavkat Rakhmonov, who is undefeated, will face his toughest challenge when he faces Stephen Thompson at welterweight. Tony Ferguson, who has lost his last three bouts, will take on Paddy Pimblett at lightweight. Josh Emmett, a featherweight, will face Bryce Mitchell.
