Two wrestlers advance in WWE NXT Battleground ladder Match in todays Wrestling news
The six-pack ladder match to crown the Women’s North American champion is set to begin with the first two competitors.
Sol Ruca and Lash Legend won their qualifying matches in Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode, advancing to the title match set for Sunday June 9.
Legend defeated Ivy Nile in Tuesday’s episode, while Ruca defeated Izzi to earn a place at Battleground.
Next week, qualifying matches will be held to determine two additional participants for the Battleground ladder. Jaida Parker will face Brinley Reece and Thea Hail will face Fallon Henley.
The 12 competitors who will compete in the qualifying bouts have been determined by a NXT Combine, which aired last Tuesday.
The second Battleground match was confirmed on Tuesday. Men’s North American champion Oba Femi will defend his title in a triple threat number 1 contender’s bout that will be held on next Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode featuring Ivar, Josh Briggs and Wes Lee.
Battleground will stream live on Peacock/WWE Network on Sunday, June 9 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The current lineup for that show:
- Women’s North American Championship six-pack ladder match: Lash Legend vs. Sol Ruca vs. TBD vs. TBD vs. TBD vs. TBD
- Men’s North American Champion Oba Femi defends against Ivar, Wes Lee, or Josh Briggs
