Triple H, Cody Rhodes and others spoke to ESPN about the possibility of changing WrestleMania’s plans.

Triple H spoke about the importance of calling an audible when making plans in professional wrestling.

The Chief Creative officer of WWE spoke with ESPN about the changing plans for WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes initially gave up his chance of facing Roman Reigns to allow The Rock the opportunity to challenge Reigns. The Rock changed his mind after Cody Rhodes announced that he would still challenge Reigns.

Triple H compared himself to Vince McMahon in a similar situation. “I learned a lot from my time here, but I thought I’d do some things differently along the way. Now, I can make those decisions with a large group of people. “Whether people want to believe it, or not, we were looking at it as a way to get it started and the possibility of going either way or another.”

“We have to call out audibles every week,” he said. “Everything that you do depends on reactions.” We do that as an industry ….The great thing about this group, and Cody, Roman and Rock in particular, is that everyone has their ear on the ground ….and we can all get together to figure out the s***.”

Cody Rhodes, in the same article, talked about the negative reactions to his stepping down, saying that The Rock’s entry into the picture might have come at an odd time.

“I think that he may have just come back at an odd time, which is wild for the most popular wrestler and one of the most recognized faces on Earth,” Rhodes stated. “The mere fact that someone is booing [him] out there throws off my mind. It means that we’re doing something very special. I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue-eyed, [Disco Inferno] [and those podcasters], they get mad about it, but our business is bigger than in the late ’90s. The late ’90s were a great time for business.

On Sunday, night two of WrestleMania will feature Rhodes vs. Reigns in a match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. On night one, he and Seth Rollins will face Rock and Reigns as a tag-team match.
