Triple H: Drew Gulak’s WWE contract was not terminated, but simply not renewed in todays Wrestling news
Triple H was asked if Gulak was still alive during the WWE post-Backlash Press Conference.
Paul “Triple H’ Levesque confirmed Drew Gulak’s departure from WWE during the Saturday post-Backlash Press Conference.
Levesque stated that Gulak was not released from the contract he signed, even though he left WWE. Gulak’s deal was up, and the company decided not to renew it.
On Friday, NXT made a round of roster cuts. Levesque answered the question at the Backlash presser when asked if Gulak’s release was true, and if this had anything to do Ronda Rousey’s allegation against Gulak:
We constantly release talent. NFL releases 400 to 500 players per year. We constantly release talent, it’s part of what we are. You can’t just hire people and bring them in. Then, you can keep hiring people and bringing them in. Unfortunately, talent is released. Can I say he has been released? He was not released. It was not his contract that was terminated.
Levesque didn’t say if Rousey’s allegation was a factor in Gulak’s contract not being extended.
Rousey talked about an incident that occurred in WWE 2022, where Gulak tugged on the string of Rousey’s sweatpants. Gulak issued a statement in which he claimed that the incident was an “accident” when he accidentally touched Rousey’s drawstring while going to shake her hand.
Gulak was removed as a NXT TV host following Rousey’s appearance on NewsNation. WWE investigated Rousey’s claims about the drawstring incident.
