The Young Bucks will wrestle FTR at AEW.

Tony Khan says The Young Bucks has a good reason for airing the backstage footage of AEW All In.

On Saturday’s episode, it was revealed Matthew & Nicholas Jackson would “present backstage video from AEW all In & discuss for the first” on Dynamite in this week. Khan told Sports Illustrated recently that the decision to air this footage was “based on putting the best show on for AEW as well as driving attention for Dynamite and Dynasty’s pay-per view on April 21.”

Khan said:

AEW is known for delivering on what it advertises, and that footage is real.

The Young Bucks are showing backstage footage of All In, which was the most important event for AEW in its history. It is the world record holder for the highest number of tickets sold for any wrestling records, with over 81 035.

He continued:

The decision to air the footage was made based on AEW’s desire to put on the best possible show, and also to generate interest in Dynamite as well as our Dynasty Pay-Per-View on April 21. This is real footage that has affected many people. It will air on TBS for the first time during Dynamite.

Justin Barrasso reported that Khan is “guarded” about specific content that will be aired on Wednesday. Khan teased, however, that the footage might play a part in the Young Bucks’ ongoing rivalry with FTR.

Khan continued:

The Young Bucks wrestle for the world tag-team championship at AEW Dynasty, against longtime rivals FTR. The Young Bucks have a very important rivalry in AEW. This video is a great example of this.

It’s crucial that the Young Bucks explain why this is important going into Dynasty. It’s another must-see segment of Dynamite.

On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio episode, available to subscribers now, Dave Meltzer & Bryan Alvarez discussed AEW’s decision.

They said:

Meltzer: Isn’t the idea to embarrass Punk? To embarrass Punk and show him to be a liar. If they do it, the heels are doing it because they don’t want babyfaces.

Alvarez: They will be babyfaces.

Meltzer: Jack Perry is not supposed to come in – but if this leads him to come in, then it’s not supposed be as a babyface. I am confused, but I think I’ll feel less confused after this airs.
