The Athletic recently spoke with the AEW President.
Tony Khan has commented about Bryan Danielson’s future at AEW.
Danielson revealed to his daughter, aged six, that he had promised him he would become a full-time wrestling “around August next year.”
Khan told The Athletic that Danielson would no longer be part of the promotion, but he would remain “in spirit” with AEW and make occasional, sporadic, appearances.
Khan said, “Bryan Khan and I agreed to a deal three years before AEW All in 2024.” “The agreement was Bryan would wrestle full-time for three years.”
“I was already begging him to stay three years before the agreement expired.” He will remain with us in spirit, and occasionally, he may make sporadic visits with us.
Khan continued, “But the end date of the full-time stint with us will be 2024.”
Danielson will wrestle his first match at the Continental Classic on Collision Tomorrow. Eddie Kingston, who lost his first match last Saturday to Brody King, will be his opponent.
Khan also revealed in the interview that AEW will not be running any other shows from England next year than All In.
“I’ve thought about it, but I will make sure that AEW All In will be the only show AEW does in England this year. Khan said: “That is a very specific declaration.”
“Someday, we could add more concerts in England, make this a regular event and do more tours there.”
Danielson posted on social media Friday, referring next year’s All In event as his “last opportunity to wrestle in the UK.”
