Tony Khan said that Wednesday’s Dynamite was the ‘right place and time’ to air the altercation at All In in August.
Khan told Uproxx that the footage aired on Wednesday between Jack Perry and CMPunk is relevant to upcoming plans of The Young Bucks. They are set to take on FTR in the finals for the AEW tag team title tournament on April 21 at AEW Dynamics.
He says, “For us, it’s based on timing and the Young Bucks’ position going into the World Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals at AEW Dynamics.” “This was the perfect time and place for them play this footage and discuss why it’s important to them and AEW moving forward and what this means heading into AEW Dynasty,” he says.
The company announced Saturday that The Young Bucks would be airing backstage video from All In on AEW Dynamite. Nicholas & Matthew Jackson will be talking about the footage, for the first. The altercation between Perry & Punk led to Punk being fired from AEW, and Perry being suspended from the company.
