Tony Khan replies to Goldberg and says he wants to work at AEW in todays Wrestling news
The AEW President appeared on the Superstar Crossover Podcast.
Tony Khan has responded Goldberg.
Goldberg, who has been announcing his disinterest in signing with AEW for the past few weeks, said that the company’s products are “too cheesy.”
Goldberg made the statement during an interview on 93.7 The Ticket.
During a recent appearance on The Superstar Crossover Podcast, the AEW president answered a question about Goldberg’s remarks.
Khan responded:
Bill wanted to be here! Bill and I met several times. Bill was interested in working here.
It’s funny, because I had some really nice meetings with Bill. I would have been really interested in doing something. Since you brought this up, I have great respect for Bill, but I was surprised to hear that. That wasn’t the way he spoke to me when we were talking about working here someday. I’ve always been receptive to that idea and I like Bill. It’s about timing, and we’re doing some exciting things right now.
Khan continued to discuss Sting and Goldberg’s friendship and Sting’s send-off from AEW.
Khan continued:
Bill has talked to me before about working at this company, so I don’t believe he had a problem with the content. Anyone who watched Sting’s send off had nothing but positive things to say, so I don’t know what this was about. I do like and respect Bill.
Khan said that Goldberg did not express the same concerns about AEW’s contents when they met.
He has a right to his opinion, but I know that when we have spoken in person, both in person and via zooms or phone calls, that we have had very pleasant conversations. He hasn’t expressed that, but it is good to know how he feels. It’s possible that he has a different opinion now, but in our past conversations, he was always a positive and nice guy.
