Khan was asked if this version of Perry will be seen if and when he returns to AEW.

Tony Khan believes Jack Perry is doing “great” things during his current NJPW run.

Perry hasn’t wrestled for AEW in the past year since he was suspended after his altercation backstage with CM Punk at All In last august. Perry made his NJPW debut at Battle in the Valley in January this year. Perry’s NJPW debut included an angle in which he ripped his AEW deal.

Perry was known as “Scapegoat”, during his time with NJPW. He competed recently in the New Japan Cup and reached the quarterfinals.

ComicBook.com asked Khan if he plans to continue this version Perry’s character if Perry returns to AEW TV.

Khan responded:

Well, I’d say you should stay tuned. Jack is doing fantastic things in New Japan. He’s done well in the New Japan Cup. He’s made himself known over there. He feels like a scapegoat. Jack is doing great things and he is wrestling for a great organization. It’s been a pleasure to follow his progress in New Japan. I think he has done a great job there.

Punk’s AEW agreement was terminated for cause after the incident at All In. Punk returned to WWE in November last year at Survivor Series.
