Tony Khan, the owner of AEW, says that Bryan Danielson plans to stay at AEW for “a long time”.
Khan gave a new interview to TJ Jefferson of The Rich Eisen Show, in which he discussed Danielson’s future at the company.
“I cannot say how much time Bryan still has in the ring. But he has stated that this will be his last year. This is the year Bryan retires from full-time professional wrestling. It will be a sad day both for pro wrestling and for me personally when Bryan hangs up his full-time wrestling gear.
When Jefferson asked Khan if he planned to keep Danielson after his full-time career in the ring was over, Khan replied affirmatively. He also noted that Danielson plans on doing the same.
“Absolutely. 100 percent. I hope Bryan stays here for the rest his life. I know he plans to stay with us as part of our company for a very long time, and hopefully. I would like Bryan to stay as long as possible.”
Khan has previously stated that Danielson’s AEW contract expires in August and that resigning the star was a “top-priority.”
Khan also discussed Wednesday’s Dynamite Blood & Guts and All In, All Out in the 30-plus-minute interview, which can be embedded below.
