Tony Khan won’t be entering a wrestling ring any time soon.
On Cincy 360 Khan rejected the idea to wrestle a match after his on-camera angle with The Elite last month. Khan has taken a spike piledriver and is now running AEW remotely in storyline, while recovering from a neck injury.
“AEW is the place where the best wrestle and we mean that…in the case of this, I’m the worst person to pay back those people,” he said. “There are a lot of things that I’m good behind the scenes, but somebody else will have to avenge that which those guys did to me and Kenny Omega…I am quite certain that there are more capable wrestling stars than I am who can inflict that punishment on The Young Bucks, Jack Perry and Okada The Elite.”
“After what happened last time, I wouldn’t make a smart move if I tried that,” he said.
Last week, on AEW Dynamite the show ended with The Elite attacking Kenny Omega’s midsection, after Omega announced he still had diverticulitis. Omega will appear on Dynamite this week to make an “important announcement”.
