Tony Khan AEW Media Call Notes: Increasing PPVs and media rights renewal in todays Wrestling news
The AEW President addressed the media on Wednesday.
Tony Khan participated in a press conference on Thursday to promote the AEW Revolution pay per view that will be held on Sunday.
Asked Khan about his economic forecasts for the company by 2024. The AEW president said that increasing the number pay-per view events they run a calendar year is one area of potential growth.
“I think nine (PPV events) is the sweet spot,” Khan said. He also noted that he runs ROH PPVs three times a year.
AEW added a new PPV in 2022, Forbidden Door. The company expanded to eight PPVs by 2023, adding WrestleDream and All In.
Fightful reported this week that AEW had filed to trademark the name “AEW Dynasty”, as a potential PPV.
Khan said that his company will be looking to “huge increases” in its media rights deals for 2025. He added that this “will put us above the rest in many ways.” He said that by 2025, they will have moved from a “startup company” into an “established challenger,” as was his five-year goal.
