Tony D’Angelo has been crowned the new Heritage Cup champion.
D’Angelo won the Heritage Cup Trophy in the main event on this week’s NXT for the first ever. Damon Kemp and Myles borne attacked Stacks and Luca Crusifino ringside during the finish. D’Angelo knocked both men out, but then walked in Dempsey who bridged D’Angelo to cause a near-fall. D’Angelo finished with a perfect plex to win.
Last week, D’Angelo, his family, and their friends kidnapped Borne and Kemp. This prevented Dempsey’s use of the Catch Clause, which allowed any member to the No Quarter Catch Crew defend the cup. Ava fined D’Angelo $20,000 for his actions in the follow-up episode of this week’s NXT. D’Angelo handed Ava a money envelope, assuring her that there would be no nonsense in the main event.
Dempsey held the title for 78 consecutive days after defeating Noam dar on the 27th edition of NXT.
