Thunderbolt Patterson will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by a radio presenter from Marion, Ohio.
The Marion Star published a story on Tuesday about Patterson’s upcoming induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. In the article, it was mentioned that Patterson had asked journalist and radio presenter Scott Spears to be his Hall of Fame induction.
Spears said:
This is a great honor for me. Thunderbolt has been a friend of mine for many years and no one deserves this honor more than him. It is a great honor to be asked to induct Thunderbolt, and I do not take it lightly.
I’ve been a pro wrestling fan for many years and the WWE has always been great.
Spears is the host of Marion’s WGH Talk Radio. He said that he will be one of Patterson’s inductors on his radio program.
Patterson told Spears that she was selected for the WWE Hall of Fame.
I feel good. It’s a dream that I had, and it wouldn’t have happened if not for the Lord.
The 82-year old Patterson believes that the induction ceremony will be the best night of his life. He gave credit to Spears, Gerald Brisco and Bruce Prichard, as well as journalist Mike Mooneyham.
Patterson was a trailblazing wrestler in the 1970s & 1980s. Paul “Triple H’ Levesque tweeted the following when Patterson was announced as a member of the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame Class:
He was a champion both in and out of the ring. He also championed his peers’ health and well-being. Thunderbolt Patterson is still a major influence in the WWE today. He will be recognized for his contributions when he enters the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2024.
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of this year also includes Paul Heyman (as well as Bull Nakano), The U.S. Express, Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham, and Muhammad Ali. Lia Maivia will also be inducted.
The Hall of Fame Ceremony will be streamed live on Peacock beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, 4/5. The event is being held at the Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, immediately following that night’s episode SmackDown.
The ceremony takes place the night before WrestleMania Night One.
