Taz, AEW’s commentator, has been told he requires both knees and shoulders replaced in todays Wrestling news
Taz has decided to delay surgery.
Taz has been told he will need both his shoulders and knees replaced. However, he is not interested in surgery at this time.
The 56-year old AEW commentator posted on social media about his decision not to replace the four joints, despite being told by a “highly acclaimed orthopedist” that he needed them replaced. Taz will instead continue to try regenerative procedures to help him deal with the pain.
Taz said that the problem with his knees, and shoulders, was from training too heavily in the gym throughout his career. Not the bumps he received in the ring. He encouraged today’s wrestlers be smarter in their training:
Yesterday I went to an orthopedic surgeon who is highly regarded to discuss my knee. He did X-rays and tests on me. It’s been a rough couple of years. My shoulders & my knees will need to be replaced. 4 joints. I’m not doing this at the moment. I’m going to keep trying regenerative treatments & try sucking it up with the pain.
This is NOT from bumps… it’s from training heavy like a ‘big’ caveman trying to become ‘big’. This is for today’s wrestling, please be smarter. Times have changed for the best! !
Taz is a former ECW and WWE wrestler. He retired from the ring in 2002, and has only wrestled one time since. In 2006, he returned to beat Jerry Lawler in a quick match at ECW One Night Stand. He has worked as a WWE, TNA and AEW commentator.
Taz is a member of the Dynamite announce team. He signed with AEW for 2020. He is the father of AEW’s Hook.
