Swerve Strickland vs. Killswitch announced as AEW Dynamite in todays Wrestling news
The AEW world champion will be in action this Wednesday.
The show will feature Swerve Strickland and Killswitch, in a non title match. Strickland has just defeated Killswitch’s mentor, Christian Cage, leader of the Patriarchy at Double or Nothing.
Tony Khan announced the good news on Tuesday. The match graphic he shared includes a promotional for HBO’s House of the Dragon Season 2, which premieres on Max next week.
AEW promoted the debut of House of the Dragon Season One in 2022. Ricky “The Dragon”, Steamboat, was the guest timekeeper on the Dynamite episode of August 17, that year. The main event featured “The American Dragon”, Bryan Danielson, vs. Daniel Garcia, “The Dragon Slayer”.
Chris Jericho will also debut a new interview segment entitled “TV Time with the Learning Tree Chris Jericho” on Wednesday’s show.
So far, only one other match has been confirmed for Wednesday. It is a Casino Gauntlet Match to determine who will compete for the AEW Championship at Forbidden Doors on June 30.
AEW posted on social media as well that we would “get answers” on the show from Kris Statlander, and Stokely Hathaway after they turned against Willow Nightingale in Double or Nothing. ROH Women’s World Champion Athena seems to also be upset with Nightingale.
