Swerve Strickland, AEW World Champion and former indie champion, will be returning to the indies for the first time since 2023 to face the legendary Amazing Red.
The House of Glory show will take place at the NYC Arena on Friday, 26th July in Jamaica, New York. This will be a month after Strickland returns to the area for the main event of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in Long Island, New York.
Strickland’s last appearance for the promotion was in December last year when he defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey. The 33-year old rarely competes in independent matches at this time, but also occasionally competes for DEFY in Pacific Northwest. Prince Nana, who is also in AEW, will be in his corner.
The first time they met was nearly a decade earlier for an independent film from Rhode Island.
Red, 42, a former TNA X-Division and Ring of Honor Tag Team champion, still wrestles a few times a year, mainly with HOG.
