Sting believes Konosuke Hashita has the tools to be a superstar in AEW.
In the main match of Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin beat Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs with a tornado tag. This was the second time Sting and Takeshita had faced each other. They were also on opposing sides of an eight man tag match at AEW Worlds End pay per view in December.
Takeshita, 28, posted a tweet Thursday reflecting on what it was like to share the ring Sting. Takeshita wrote in a tweet that watching Sting’s and The Great Muta’s rivalry when he was young had a big impact on him:
It was a very special experience to be able fight against Sting. Sting vs Great Muta VHS was a big influence on me as a child. Thanks. Then… Who should I target next?
Sting called Takeshita another Great Muta on Friday.

In September 2022 Sting and Muta reunited in AEW Rampage. This led to Sting, Allin, and Keiji Muto teaming up with Muto for his last-ever match, The Great Muta, in Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Sting has less that two months before his in-ring career ends. Sting’s final match will take place at AEW Revo in Greensboro North Carolina on Sunday March 3. Sting & Allin were set to face The Young Bucks in Revolution at the end of Dynamite.
