Steph De Lander told the crowd at TNA Victory Road on Friday that she needed neck surgery.
De Lander and Matt Cardona were to team up against PCO, the husband of the on-screen Rhino. She announced the news on the microphone before the match began, saying that she was in pain each day.
She continued to say that this is not a retirement speech, and said “This isn’t goodbye.” This is “I’ll see ya later.”
De Lander said on X that “Yes, this was real” and told a negative fan the reason he needed surgery was because he had been “landing on my head for seven years to entertain idiots like you.”
How bad her neck is and how long she might be out are still unknown.
The 27-year old has only competed once since May. He was in a TNA Impact trios match in early August.
