Shawn Michaels teases WWE NXT with’very exciting’ announcements in todays Wrestling news
WWE NXT could be preparing some “very exciting announcements”, following a recent newsworthy episode.
Jordynne Grace, the TNA Knockouts champion, made a surprise NXT appearance this Tuesday. She was revealed to be Roxanne Perez’s Battleground challenger. Grace will try to become a two-time champion when she takes on Perez in the NXT Women’s Championship event that will take place on Sunday, June 9, in Las Vegas.
Shawn Michaels, KTNV Channel 13’s interviewee in Las Vegas to promote Battleground. Michaels was asked whether we can expect to see NXT and non WWE promotions cross-promoted in the future. Michaels said, that while many of these decisions are made by those above him, NXT will be making some very exciting announcements soon.
“Well, look at it, obviously, a lot of these decisions are made by people above me. Michaels said, “I have no doubt there will be some exciting announcements in the future. “And again, I will say that it comes down to wanting to entertain those who do this. You just said that we, as fans, have been waiting so long to see A, B, or C. I don’t think I know. I guess those of us who work behind the scenes have wanted to see those things. Why not see if you can get what you’ve wanted?”
Michaels said that he has been a Grace fan for a very long time, and he is delighted to have her join NXT. Grace was also a participant in WWE’s Royal Rumble women’s match in January. Sports Illustrated reported that WWE President Nick Khan had expressed interest in collaborating with other promotions.
Ethan Page, a former AEW wrestler, made his debut in this week’s NXT show by attacking Trick Williams. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Williams vs. Page for the NXT Championship will be held at Battleground.
Michaels told KTNV Channel 13 that “it’s a very exciting period to be a wrestler fan. We’ll see what culminates on Battleground on the 9th of June.” “But I’m certain that a lot will be happening that night.” So I wouldn’t want to miss it.”
Battleground will be broadcast from the UFC Apex, Las Vegas. This is the first WWE event that has been held at this venue.
Grace will face Stevie Turner in NXT on Tuesday, five days before Battleground.
