Seth Rollins will face the Elimination Chamber winner in WWE WrestleMania 40 in todays Wrestling news
SmackDown begins a series of Chamber qualification matches.
WWE has announced that Seth Rollins will face a World Heavyweight Championship opponent at WrestleMania.
In a segment that kicked off Friday’s SmackDown show, Raw GM Adam Pearce, SmackDown’s GM Nick Aldis, and Paul “Triple H’ Levesque appeared together and revealed that an Elimination Chamber match for men will take place in Australia on February 24, with the winner then going on to face Rollins for his World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania, set for April 6 and April 7.
WWE announced 12 wrestlers for six qualifying matches that will be held between now and Elimination Chamber. The first two matches are set for Friday’s Smackdown.

- Bronson Reed
- Kevin Owens
- Logan Paul
- AJ Styles
- The Miz
- Bobby Lashley
- Ivar
- Drew McIntyre
- Sami Zayn
- Dominik Mysterio
- LA Knight
The first two matches held on the Friday, February 9 SmackDown —
- Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles
- Randy Orton vs. Sami Zayn
The remaining four qualifying matches are yet to be announced.
After weeks of teasers between Pearce and Aldis, the management said that they were presenting a united face in making this announcement. The dueling authority figures feud seems to have been shifted from The Rock vs. Triple H.
Triple H opened SmackDown with the statement that he wanted it to be clear that after Thursday’s WrestleMania Kickoff featuring The Rock & Roman reigns, some people didn’t “know [their] role” and the power came from one person — Triple H.
