The World Heavyweight Champion opened Monday’s Raw by giving a status report.
Seth Rollins announced his injury on Monday’s WWE Raw, but promised to carry the World Heavyweight Title into WrestleMania 40.
Rollins opened Monday’s Raw by confirming that he had injured his left leg during his World title defence against Jinder Mahal on Monday. Rollins revealed that he had suffered a Grade 2-tear of his MCL as well as a meniscus tear. He said he would be out of action for three to four months if he needed to undergo surgery.
Intercontinental Champion Gunther interrupted Rollins’ promo and said he was sorry to hear Rollins will be out of action. Rollins said that Gunther should not have interrupted him and that he will be rehabbing his injury instead of getting surgery. He also promised to bring the World title to WrestleMania.
Rollins and Gunther exchanged hands at the end of the segment, hinting that they would be working together on a future title show.
Since Punk’s return to WWE at Survivor Series in November last year, the World Heavyweight Championship has been teased as a program between Rollins & CM Punk.
Both Punk & Gunther have been entered in Saturday’s Royal Rumble match. Rollins’ name is not on the Royal Rumble advertisement.
